COOKING AT THE BAY

http://designsbygollum.blogspot.com

My husband (Mr. HHF) is a very talented cook and loves doing it, so over the last ten years he has taken over that responsibility---much to the delight of my taste buds, and much to the distress of my figure. When we're at the Bay, he often cooks three meals a day, everything very fresh and made from scratch. I'll warn you that this post isn't about tablescapes! Hey, he catches the food, he cleans it, he cooks it...you can't ask for everything!

BREAKFAST ON THE PORCH

Unfortunately, you can't see the crab meat, from our own traps, that he put in the scrambled eggs. And, by the way, what happened to the grits? Anything else madam? Butter, jelly and more coffee, please!

LUNCH ON THE PORCH
Mr. HHF threw his shrimp net a few times, off the side of the wharf, and pulled in these shrimp. Can you believe it? He brought them into the kitchen, boiled them, peeled and de-veined them, made the fish-shaped corn muffins (from scratch!) and then we ate. After a nice glass of wine ( or maybe two---I'm on vacation) I had a good nap!

DINNER IN THE HOUSE
(Braves game on TV!)

You guessed it! He went out in his boat, on the Bay, and caught these speckled trout---our favorite fish! He broiled them with lemon juice and real butter and topped them off with capers. A stuffed potato and fresh steamed broccoli. (I helped!)

AND, THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE...
Mint chocolate chip ice cream---my favorite dessert!

He cooks! How great is that...Not just fish~ but fish-shaped corn muffins! (Does he clean too :-)? My yogurt for breakfast is really not going to satisfy me now that I've seen your breakfast on the porch...
