NEW DISCOVERY

I've recently discovered a wonderful artist by the name of Anne Harwell. Her website is annechovie.blogspot and she sells her work through Etsy, as well. I'm completely enamored by everything she does. Since I collect miniature chairs, I'm particularly intrigued by her chair paintings. Her work is so colorful and whimsical. It makes me happy just to look at it. Unfortunately, I would like to buy every single piece she creates. How will I ever decide which one to start with? Hint: It may be this one that combines my love of chairs and design books, not to mention my favorite shades of pink and green!

NEW YEAR, NEW BLOG

There's no doubt about it. I'm not a winter person. Give me flip-flop weather every day of the year. On a gloomy winter day like this one has been, I take solace in some little self-indulgences. I spent most of the afternoon in front of a blazing fireplace, with candles burning and lamps warmly glowing. I had a stack of books and magazines and two sweet dogs who love to cuddle. As it started to get dark, I opened a nice bottle of Pinot Noir and poured myself a glass. A small dish of cheese straws was the perfect accompaniment. And, that's how I "do" winter!
