PINK SATURDAY

We have a beach house, and I found these flamingos at a "mom & pop" convenience store/gas station in town. I thought they were so "tacky-cute" that I had to have them. The lady said she added the accessories from Michael's with a glue gun. Five minutes and voila! In all truthfulness, they didn't last very long, but they were cute for a season. Glad I took pictures the first day, because things like this don't hold up vey long in the Gulf breee and salt air.

  6. Love the pink flamingos...there's a garden center in Austin, Texas that sits on a busy corner lined with hundreds of plastic and metal flamingos...people even give directions using this well known local landmark...I also enjoyed your post about the baby birds...we had wrens on our screened-in porch...the mama and papa could just squeeze in under the door...guess they felt safe there. Happy Pink Saturday and have a Pink week.

  15. Sooo funny. One of my neighbors in Tulsa decided that my house needed to be Flamingosized, so she put a really tacky one by my driveway. It was such a big topic of conversation in my small neighborhood that we all had to have a little party that evening in honour of the flamingo. It was lots of fun@
