OOPS!

I've been using the same desk and chair since I was about 12 years old. The chair has been painted and refinished several times and the fabric over the seat has been changed out many times, over the years. Browsing through a magazine one day, I saw the cutest two-piece "outfit" on a similar chair. I tore out the picture and took it to my friendly upholsterer to copy. Voila! It turned out just like the magazine picture. Then, I took it to a local monogram shop (which has since closed). After extensive explanations and detailed drawings of where the monogram should go, they still got it backwards. Imagine how excited I was when I went to pick it up. And, what did they offer to do? They said if I got another one made, they would monogram it for free. Thanks a lot...
Since the chair sits in a bit of a corner, with its back to the wall, I decided to just live with it for awhile. I still love it though. I think the box-pleated skirt and the tie-on top are so cute.

  1. Thanks for visiting my site and congratulations on the launch of yours. I do love your chair cover and it's imperfect monogram just adds to the charm. Best of luck to you!

  2. It's absolutely adorable! Here's an idea-since they already agreed to another monogram, just have them add it to the other side-so what if the chair has 2? That way it will show no matter where you put it. Love it!

  5. Tracy, I have been meaning to drop by for a visit - and so glad I did. I love your slipcover. It is the perfect idea for one I have. I think I would have them pay for another to be made and then redo it for you!! ;0 Still - very cute!!
I just wanted to thank you for leaving me a sweet comment on my blog about my little Gigi. It really meant a lot to me.
I will be back to visit soon.

  6. Love the slipcover! I am working on my husband's office and want to slipcover a functional office chair (go figure ergonomic is more important to him than design). It is great to see an example.

  7. The slipcover is adorable, but I laughed out loud at the upside down monogram. Oh my gosh!
