WHITE WEDNESDAY

http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com

For years, I've been drooling over white upholstery but always felt like it was just too impractical for my lifestyle. Now that summer is here, I'm once again seriously considering the possibility. Should I just "bite the bullet" and go for it? Remember, I have five (count 'em---five!) dogs...

I love the dressmaker details on each of these pieces. The pleats and tucks and bows... to die for!

Isn't this scalloped hem just the cutest?

The bows and the tiny box pleats---so adorable!

Those tiny box pleats again and a monogram, too. What more could a girl ask for?

More box pleats, a little bit bigger this time, and those darling bows down the back again, too. I could imagine sitting in this chair all day long, with a good book.

  1. I love it too..for all the same reasons. If it was couches, I would be nervous too but a chair or two should be ok...they can't all pile into it at once! LOL Come say hi :D

  2. I'm sure I have each of these pics in my 'slipcover' file! I've just recently gone to white slips for my sofas and love 'em. I only have one dog, a border collie, who sheds like crazy. He's only allowed on the loveseat, so at night, we just throw a white cover over it. The great thing about the slipcovers, is that you can just throw them in the wash when they get soiled.

    So I'd say...go for it!

  3. Susie is right. If you can wash it, go for it!
Remember all those non white things still have hair on it- you can't see it, maybe can't wash it. I'd rather see it and know it's time to hit the Maytag!

  4. Oh, I hear you with your dilemma! I love white upholstery too ... but with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a husband who is a mechanic, I have pretty much given up on that dream! It's nice to look at pictures though! :)

  5. I am also loving these pretty whites and wonder how they'd work in our home...with dogs, kids and grandkids. But the whites look so fresh and appealing. Your choices of slipcovers are beautiful. Maybe I'll do one room....I'm getting closer to JUST DOING IT!

I LOVE all of these slipcovers!! I say go for it. I worried about the same thing you have, but I've had white slipcovered furniture for a little over a year now, and it always comes clean in the wash. I LOVE it!!
    Happy WW!

  10. I hesitate, too, as around here, the slipcovers would spend more time in the washing machine than on the furniture!

  12. Those are all so beautiful! I haven't gone white on my sofa yet, not because of dogs but because of teenage boys. But if it's washable then I say go for it!
